# Invoice My Clients: full product brief > Invoice My Clients is web-based invoicing and accounts receivable software for freelancers, tradespeople, agencies and small businesses. It creates and sends invoices, takes card and bank payments through Stripe, and chases unpaid invoices with AI-written reminders. It has a free plan with no card required, works in English and Spanish (es-MX), and keeps the books in QuickBooks Online or Xero rather than replacing them. Last updated: 2026-10-19. An owner makes an invoice (from scratch, from an accepted estimate, from tracked hours, from a recurring schedule, from a purchase order or from an uploaded document), sends it by email or text message with a PDF link (paid plans add a "View and pay" link), takes payment by card, ACH bank transfer, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe, and lets AI-written reminders follow up on late invoices. Invoices and payments sync one way to QuickBooks Online or Xero. A chat and voice AI assistant can create, send, look up and chase invoices, and an MCP server lets other AI clients do the same on Professional and above. ## Who it is for - Freelancers and solo service providers who need clean invoices and a way to get paid online. - Tradespeople and contractors (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, landscaping, cleaning, construction) who bill from the job site, take deposits, bill in stages or offer payment plans. - Agencies and small businesses that send many invoices and want collections to run without a person chasing every client. - Accountants and bookkeepers who keep the ledger in QuickBooks Online or Xero and want a better invoicing and collections layer on top. - Enterprise organizations that bill on behalf of several entities (personas) and need SSO and SCIM. ## Plans and prices Annual billing is about 20% less. Payment processing is pass-through with no markup on every self-serve plan. | Plan | Monthly | Billed annually (per month) | Best for | |---|---|---|---| | Free | $0 | $0 | Trying it out | | Starter | $15 | $12 | Solo freelancer | | Professional | $29 | $24 | Full-time, gets paid fast | | Business / Agency | $59 | $49 | Teams and agencies | | Enterprise | Quoted per organization | Quoted | Organizations needing SSO and scale | | White Label | Sales-led program in development, no published price | - | Resellers and platforms | ### Free ($0) - 25 invoices per month, 5 active clients, 1 login. - Email or text a PDF link, PDF download, viewed / opened notifications, invoice history. - Sent messages carry the PDF link only; the "View and pay" link is a paid-plan feature. - Time tracking is view only; expenses are log only. - 20 AI assistant messages per month (Sonnet 5). - "Powered by" mark on documents. PayPal, Square, Authorize.net, Braintree and Worldpay are beta on request. - A charge is made through the Invoice My Clients Stripe platform account and transferred to the owner's connected Stripe account in the same transaction. There is no Invoice My Clients markup on processing. - Processing fees are the owner's by default and are deducted from the payout. Invoice My Clients never pays them. The owner can pass the fee to clients who pay by US credit card, as a surcharge where card rules and state law allow. Bank payments are never surcharged. - When the client pays the fee, Link, Cash App Pay and Amazon Pay are not offered on that invoice; card and bank payment remain. - Owners choose which payment methods are offered, for the whole account and for each client. - Refunds: a full or partial refund of a card payment, made from the app or from the Stripe Dashboard, lowers the invoice's paid amount and status. Stripe costs left by a refund or a lost dispute are recovered from the owner's later payments. - Clients can choose to pay part of an invoice when the owner allows partial payments. - Saved cards and auto-pay on ordinary invoices are Paused for every account. Clients pay through the secure payment form. (Installment plans have their own optional card autopay, authorized by the client.) ## Collections - Reminders follow a fixed ladder: day 1 email, day 7 email, day 14 text message, day 30 final notice, then escalation to a human queue. - Two modes, chosen in Settings, Collections. Ask first: each due reminder waits in the Escalations queue with its exact wording until the owner approves or skips it. Automatic: reminders send by themselves. - Accounts created on or after 11 October 2026 start with reminders on in ask-first mode. Earlier accounts have reminders off until the owner switches them on. - Below a confidence threshold the reminder uses a standard template instead of AI-written copy. - Quiet hours follow the client's local time. Reminders pause on a dispute, a failed delivery or a chargeback. - Preview only (not available to customers): promised-by dates and the reminder pause that depends on them, flat late fees, signed agreement on invoices, certified demand letters, small-claims evidence packet, collections handoff export. ## AI - The AI assistant works by chat and by voice (voice on Professional and above). It runs on Claude: Sonnet 5 on Free and Starter, Opus 5 on Professional and above. - It can create, send, look up and chase invoices and generate reports on request (revenue, aging, tax collected, payments by client, outstanding by client), each with a CSV export. It confirms before it sends or changes anything. - Document AI turns an uploaded document into a draft invoice or schedule, reads remittances and checks into payment matching, and turns a PDF into a purchase order. The owner confirms each result. - The MCP server (https://mcp.invoicemyclients.com/mcp, Streamable HTTP, sign-in by OAuth or API key) gives other AI clients the same tools as the in-app assistant, on Professional and above. Calls that would contact a client are refused for AI clients on live accounts. - API keys, the REST API and the MCP server are Professional and above. Free and Starter have no API or MCP access of any kind. ## Integrations - Live: Stripe; QuickBooks Online and Xero (Professional and above; invoices and payments sync one way to the connected company, and payments recorded there are imported on request); Slack; Google Drive; calendar sync (Google, Outlook, iCal); Storecove for Peppol and DBNA e-invoicing (Business and above); PostGrid for USPS mail; Money Manager Ex file export (CSV or QIF, every plan). - Beta on request: HubSpot, WhatsApp client messages, and the payment processors other than Stripe. ## What it does not do - It is not accounting software or a general ledger. Keep the books in QuickBooks Online or Xero. - No bank feed, no payroll, no inventory or stock control (the item catalog is a price list). - No standing client portal login; clients get a secure link for each invoice, estimate or statement. - Automatic read-back of payments from QuickBooks or Xero is not live (read-back is on request). - No interest or finance charges on installment plans, and no single plan across several invoices. - One login per self-serve plan; seats exist only inside an Enterprise organization. - No contractual SLA on self-serve plans. No SOC 2 or ISO certification is claimed. - Saved cards and auto-pay on ordinary invoices are Paused; the preview collections tools listed above are not available. ## How it compares Each comparison page names what the other product is for and where it is the better choice.
