# Invoice My Clients > Invoicing that collects itself for freelancers, trades, agencies. App: https://app.invoicemyclients.com. Site: https://www.invoicemyclients.com. EN + ES (es-MX). Last updated: 2026-10-19. Fuller brief: https://www.invoicemyclients.com/llms-full.txt. One-page facts: https://www.invoicemyclients.com/about/facts. Production only. "beta" = built, off by default. "preview" = built, limited to named accounts, not available to customers. "paused" = switched off for every account. ## What it is Invoicing + AR first, not accounting. Create invoice (proposal, hours, recurring, PO match), deliver (email or text with a PDF link; paid plans add the View and pay link; a secure link per invoice, PDF, Peppol/DBNA, USPS mail), collect (AI reminders email/SMS, escalation queue, AR dashboard). Books stay in QuickBooks Online / Xero: invoices and payments sync to the connected company; payments recorded there are imported on request. AI assistant (chat + voice) + MCP server (Pro+). ## Live features - Invoices: items, tax, discounts, early-pay discounts, late interest, shipping, tips, partials, scheduled send, clone, recurring, PDF, EN/ES. Clients get a secure link per invoice, estimate or statement; there is no standing client portal login. Viewed / opened notifications on every plan, Free included: the owner is told when the client opens the invoice page or the emailed PDF link (the owner opening their own link notifies nobody). Free: 25 invoices/month, 5 active clients, 1 login, Powered-by mark, PDF link only in sent messages. - Payments: Stripe (card, ACH, Apple/Google Pay). The View and pay link is sent on paid plans (Starter+); a Free account's message carries the PDF link only. The charge is made through the IMC Stripe platform account and transferred to the owner's connected Stripe account in the same transaction. No IMC markup: the fee taken equals Stripe's processing cost. Stripe costs from a lost dispute or refund are recovered from the owner's later payments. Auto-marks paid. Processing fees are the owner's by default (deducted from the payout; Invoice My Clients never pays them); the owner can pass the fee to clients who pay by US credit card as a surcharge where card rules and state law allow, and bank payments are never surcharged. When the client pays the fee, Link, Cash App Pay and Amazon Pay are not offered on that invoice (card and bank remain). Owners choose which payment methods are offered, per account and per client. Refunds (2026-10-18): a full or partial refund of a card payment, from the app or the Stripe Dashboard, lowers the invoice's paid amount and status. Details: /documentation#payments - Paused (not available to any account): saved cards and auto-pay. Clients pay through the secure payment form. - Proposals (estimates): sections, pricing tables, e-sign, approvals, scheduled send, file attachments the client can download before signing, a cover image, 1-click to invoice. A proposal can ask for a deposit: on acceptance (proposals accepted from 11 October 2026) a deposit invoice is created, the client pays it from the proposal page, and the collected amount is credited once on the invoice the proposal becomes. The credit is not yet sent to QuickBooks or Xero. Change orders (Pro+): on an accepted estimate the owner raises a numbered change order with the price difference, the client approves it by signature, and it is billed as its own lines. - In person: a sent, unpaid invoice can show a full-screen QR of its pay page (paid plans with Stripe connected). After an invoice is paid in full the owner can send one review request email with their own review link; it is never sent automatically. - Item catalog (2026-10-07, every plan): saved products, services and rental items (price; per each/hour/day/week/month; SKU; category; taxable) picked into invoice lines and proposal pricing tables; any typed line can be saved to the catalog from the line. A price list, not inventory or stock control. - Time: timers, manual, projects, rates, unbilled-to-invoice, Google/Outlook/iCal sync. - Purchase orders (POs, Business+): create, approvals, receipts, PO-to-invoice, 2/3-way match with tolerances, No-PO-No-Pay block. - Progress billing (2026-10-06, Pro+): one contract billed in stages (milestone billing). A job holds a schedule of values (up to 40 lines); each application bills percent complete per line, holds and releases retainage, subtracts previous applications, can carry sales tax, and ends as a normal invoice. A job can start from a signed proposal. Details: /features/progress-billing, term: /glossary/progress-billing - Installment plans (2026-10-18, Pro+ = Professional, Business, Enterprise, White Label; Free and Starter get an upgrade prompt): one invoice's open balance (draft or sent) split into weekly, biweekly, monthly or custom-date payments with an optional down payment on the start date; at most 60 payments over at most 5 years; exact cents, no two payments more than 1 cent apart. The owner offers the plan (the client accepts on the invoice link with a typed name, a checkbox and the exact terms; the record keeps time, a hash of the wording, IP and browser; a changed offer refuses a stale acceptance) or starts it now with notice. No interest or fees are added; the client sees "Invoice My Clients is not a lender". Client page: schedule with each payment's status, amount due now, next payment, payoff amount; pay more or pay off early (completes the plan). Optional automatic card charges, authorized only by the client (owner chooses Off, Offered or Required), on due dates with two retries within 7 days; owner pays processing fees, no client surcharge; client or owner can switch them off. Owner can pause/resume (optionally shifting dates), move one payment to the end, reschedule the rest, cancel, or reinstate a defaulted plan on a new schedule; default after a set number of missed payments (default 2 missed, 10 days grace), remainder then due at once. AR aging follows the oldest unpaid installment (rest Current); automatic reminders, if on, chase only the late installment. Invoice PDF shows the schedule (EN/ES); each payment gets a normal receipt. Owner notifications: accepted, missed, defaulted, at risk, client switched autopay off. AI: risk score (points, LOW/MEDIUM/HIGH; MEDIUM and HIGH open a "Payment plan at risk" case in Escalations), AI-drafted reminder wording (template fallback) the owner approves, never sent on its own, a terms suggestion by fixed rules (no model), every plan action in invoice history with the right actor. NOT AVAILABLE YET: creating a plan through the AI assistant by text or voice (built, awaiting deployment). NOT BUILT: interest or finance charges; one plan across several invoices; ACH/bank automatic charges (card only); automatic charges on persona invoices; a plan on an unconverted estimate (convert first; an estimate deposit acts as the down payment); client-pays surcharge on automatic charges; automatic charging of the remainder after default; emails to the client about plan changes; a client portal; a plan marker in the invoice list; Android plan screens. Details: /features/installment-plans, use case: /use-cases/let-a-client-pay-a-large-invoice-in-installments, white paper: /white-papers/long-term-installment-plans - Collections (Pro+): AI reminders on a fixed ladder (day 1 email, day 7 email, day 14 SMS, day 30 final, then escalation), in one of two modes the owner chooses under Settings, Collections. Ask first ("Ask me before each reminder"): each due reminder is held in Collections, Escalations with its exact wording and channel until the owner approves it (that wording is sent within about 15 minutes) or skips it (nothing is sent, the ladder moves on). Automatic: reminders send by themselves with no per-message approval. Accounts created on or after 11 October 2026 start with reminders on in ask-first mode; earlier accounts have reminders off until the owner switches them on. Below the confidence threshold a standard template is used instead of AI-written copy. Max per invoice, quiet hours, auto-pause on dispute/fail/chargeback, human queue for cases it cannot contact. - Stall kit, live (2026-09-28): AP/signer contact roles, statements of account, vendor kit (W-9, COI), all Starter+. Interest on overdue and early-pay discounts are also live (Starter+). - Stall kit, preview (built, not available to customers on any plan): promised-by dates and the reminder pause that depends on them, flat late fees, signed agreement, certified demand letters, small-claims packet, handoff export. Details: /features/clients-who-stall - Document AI (2026-09-30): doc-to-invoice/schedule with confidence review; remittance/check read into payment matching (owner confirms); PDF-to-PO. Uses AI scan allowance. Details: /features/document-ai - Matching (Pro+): auto-applies Stripe payments by rule ladder (ID, link, exact balance, inv# + amount). Weak/ambiguous/over/short payments wait in review. QuickBooks/Xero payment read-back is planned, not live. No bank feed. - AR dashboard (Pro+): DSO, aging, collection rate, forecast, escalation queue. - Physical mail (Pro+): USPS 1st-Class/Standard/Certified via PostGrid, address check, tracking, per-piece price shown first. - E-invoicing: Peppol + DBNA via Storecove (Business+). - Remittance advice: from payment/client/auto after Stripe batch; public /ra/ link + API. - Deductions: expense log + receipt OCR (Pro 50/mo, Business 250/mo, $0.35 over). - Reports: generated by the assistant on request (revenue, aging, tax collected, payments by client, outstanding by client), saved under /reports, each with CSV export; no fixed report catalogue. Receivables (AR dashboard, Pro+) is a separate page. - AI assistant: chat + voice, Claude 5 (Sonnet 5 Free/Starter, Opus 5 Pro+). Creates/sends/looks up/chases/reports. Confirms before send/change. - API/MCP (Pro+ = Professional, Business, Enterprise, White Label): API keys, the REST API and the MCP server are Professional and above. Free and Starter have NO API or MCP access by any means (no API key, no REST, no MCP by key or by sign-in); there are no read-only keys. Keys imc_live_ (Settings > Developer, 5/min, shown once, act only on the owner's own account; client rows never include SSN or bank account numbers). REST (JSON, bearer key): GET/POST /v1/invoices (create = draft; no endpoint emails an invoice), POST /v1/invoices/:id/send-einvoice (Peppol/DBNA, Business+), GET/POST /v1/clients, GET/POST /v1/remittance-advice, GET/PATCH /v1/remittance-advice/:id, POST /v1/remittance-advice/:id/send (marks Sent, emails nobody). Webhooks (Settings > Integrations): HMAC-SHA256 hex of "timestamp.body", 10s timeout, 3 attempts (retries at 5s and 25s). MCP: https://mcp.invoicemyclients.com/mcp, Streamable HTTP, sign-in (OAuth) or API key, same tools as the in-app assistant; calls that would contact a client (send, recurring start, reminder resume) are refused for AI clients on live accounts. Docs: /documentation#apiAccess, /features/mcp-server, /features/api - Personas (Enterprise): multi-entity billing, own branding/numbering. - Branding: logo/color on paid, no Powered-by on paid. - Import: clients from a CSV in the app's template layout (missing columns are named in the error). ## Plans (USD/mo, annual ~20% off) - Free $0: 25 inv/mo, 5 clients, Stripe, 20 AI msgs/mo, no API/MCP - Starter $15 ($12): unlimited inv/clients, View and pay link, recurring, scheduled, partials, adjustments (interest, discounts, tax, shipping, tips), branding, contact roles, statements, vendor kit, Slack/Drive, 150 AI msgs - Professional $29 ($24): + proposals (estimates) with change orders, progress billing, installment plans, bulk invoicing, time+calendar, AR dashboard, AI dunning+queue, payment matching, mail, OCR 50/mo, QBO/Xero sync, voice, API keys + REST API + MCP server, 10k AI msgs Opus 5 - Business $59 ($49): + POs, Peppol/DBNA, OCR 250/mo, 25k msgs, onboarding - Enterprise: quoted per organization, no published price and no per-seat charge; SSO (SAML/OIDC) + SCIM, personas (bill on behalf of), organization dashboard, pooled AI, dedicated CSM, SLA on request - White Label: a sales-led program in development; no published price, nothing self-serve - Saved cards and auto-pay are Paused on every plan.
