Short answers to the questions support hears most. If yours is not here, the contact details are at the bottom of the page.
What is Invoice My Clients?+
Invoice My Clients is an invoicing platform for service professionals: create, send, and track invoices, with an AI assistant, built-in time tracking, and automated payment reminders. You can start on the free plan with no card.
Is Invoice My Clients really free?+
Yes. The free plan lets you create and send invoices with no credit card required. Paid plans add unlimited invoices and clients, recurring invoices, proposals, time tracking, and a larger AI allowance.
How does the AI assistant work?+
You describe what you need in plain language, by typing or by voice, and the assistant drafts invoices, looks up clients, bills unbilled hours, and runs reports on your real data. It always confirms before it sends or changes anything.
What payment methods do you support?+
Online payments run through Stripe. Clients can pay by credit or debit card, ACH bank transfer, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, depending on what Stripe supports in their region. Funds settle directly to your bank account and the invoice marks itself paid.
Do you offer multi-language support?+
Yes. The app and your client-facing invoices are available in English and Spanish, and you can invoice in more than 135 currencies through Stripe.
How secure is my data?+
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest and every account is isolated from every other. Card details never touch our servers: payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 service provider. The platform runs on AWS, whose infrastructure holds SOC and ISO certifications. Our own security posture page lists the controls we operate.
SecurityCan I track time and create invoices in the same app?+
Yes. Timers, projects, and billable rates live next to your invoices, and unbilled time converts to itemized invoice lines in one step.
What industries do you support?+
Any service business that bills clients: consultants, developers, photographers, contractors, cleaning services, bookkeepers, agencies, and many more. Line items, tax rates, and templates are all yours to shape.
How do automatic payment reminders work?+
When an invoice comes due or goes overdue, the app sends a professional reminder on the schedule you choose. On Professional and above, autonomous collections escalate the tone over time and flag disputes for you.
Can I export my financial data?+
Yes. Revenue, aging, tax, and client payment reports export in standard formats for your accountant, and QuickBooks Online and Xero sync are available on Professional and above.
How do I reset my password?+
On the sign-in page choose Forgot password, enter your email, and follow the link in the message we send. If you signed up with Google or a passkey, use that button instead; there is no password to reset.
How do I change my plan or cancel?+
Open Settings, then Subscription. You can upgrade, downgrade, switch between monthly and annual billing, or cancel at any time. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and your data stays available on the free plan.
How do I export my data?+
Invoices, clients, and payment history export as CSV from their list pages, and any invoice or proposal downloads as a PDF. Your data is yours; there is no lock-in.
How do I delete my account?+
Follow the steps on the data deletion page. Deletion removes your account and its data, with the exception of records we are legally required to keep, such as tax and payment records, for the retention period the law sets.
Data deletion pageWhere do I report a security issue?+
Email security@invoicemyclients.com with the details and steps to reproduce. We acknowledge reports promptly and keep you updated until the issue is resolved. Please do not test against other customers’ accounts.
How do I reach support, and how fast do you answer?+
Email support@invoicemyclients.com or use the contact page. We answer within one business day, usually much sooner. Paid plans get priority in the queue.
How does automated collections decide when to chase an invoice, and can I stop it?+
On Professional and above, turn it on under Settings, then Collections. The engine watches every sent, unpaid invoice and follows a fixed ladder from the due date: a friendly email on day 1, a firm email on day 7, an SMS on day 14, and a final email on day 30, then escalation. Every message is written by the assistant and only auto-sends above the confidence threshold you set; you also set the maximum reminders per invoice and quiet hours in UTC. A failed payment, dispute, or chargeback pauses that invoice and opens a case in your escalation queue under Collections, then Escalations, where you approve and send, mark resolved, or dismiss. Turning the engine off pauses every campaign.
Automated collections featureHow do proposals and e-signatures work?+
On Professional and above, open Proposals, choose New proposal, and build it from sections and a pricing table. Send it and the client gets a secure link where they review and sign electronically; you are notified when it is viewed and when it is accepted. If your team needs sign-off first, submit it for approval before sending. An accepted proposal converts to an invoice with the same line items, and the signed proposal stays attached.
Proposals featureWhat can I do with purchase orders?+
On Business and above, open Purchase orders to create a PO for a client, add approvers who mark it approved or rejected, record receipts of what was delivered, and create the invoice from the PO. Matching runs automatically whenever an invoice linked to the PO is saved: two-way compares quantity, price, and amount to the order; three-way also requires the invoiced quantity to be within what was received. Set the default mode and tolerances under Settings, then Purchase Orders, where you can also require a PO above a chosen amount.
Purchase orders featureWhat happens when I run out of AI messages, and what counts as a message?+
Every plan includes a monthly allowance of AI messages (20 on Free, 150 on Starter, 750 on Professional, 2,500 on Business). Each completed request you send to the assistant, typed or spoken, counts as one message, whatever it does behind the scenes. When the allowance is spent, the assistant pauses until the next cycle unless you have credits. Prepaid credit packs of 100, 500, or 2,000 messages are sold in the app under Settings, then AI Assistant. Credits never expire and are only used after the monthly allowance is gone.
Plans and AI allowancesCan I send an invoice by post?+
Yes, on Professional and above. Open the invoice, choose Send by mail, let the drawer verify the client's postal address, and pick USPS First-Class ($2.49), USPS Standard ($1.49), or Certified Mail with signature ($12.99). The letter is printed and mailed for you, and the invoice tracks it from Pending through In transit to Delivered or Returned. Each piece is billed on top of your plan, with the total shown before you confirm.
