Free Templates Where Every Format Actually Computes
Roofing invoice template
Roofing invoices route through more hands than most: homeowner, insurer, adjuster, sometimes a mortgage company. The invoice that carries the claim number and mirrors the adjuster’s line names moves through all of them fastest.
Insurance jobs: mirror the scope
For claim work, put the claim number and adjuster on the invoice and name lines the way the carrier’s estimate does (tear-off, felt, drip edge, shingles by square). Supplements approved mid-job get their own lines referencing the claim - that mirroring is what releases depreciation without another site visit.
Deposits and draws
Material-heavy jobs justify a deposit at signing (commonly a third) and the balance at completion; the deposit field credits it against the computed balance. On insurance work, the ACV check often serves as the deposit - record it the same way.
The warranty block
Two warranties matter: the manufacturer’s on materials and yours on workmanship. State the workmanship term on the invoice and register the manufacturer warranty at final payment - noted on the invoice, it becomes part of the home’s records at resale.

Roofing invoice FAQ
Who do I invoice on an insurance job?+
The homeowner - they hold the policy and the claim proceeds. The invoice documents what the carrier needs to release funds, but the contract and the debt are with the homeowner.
How do supplements work?+
Damage found mid-job goes to the adjuster for approval, then appears as its own invoice lines referencing the claim. Never bury supplements in the base scope - approval and payment both depend on the separation.
Can I discount the deductible?+
No - deductible rebating is illegal in most states and carriers actively look for it. The invoice should show the full contract price with the deductible visibly the homeowner’s.
