Bill the same clients every month

Retainers, maintenance plans, hosting, monthly cleaning. The invoice is the same every month; the work is remembering to send it and chasing the ones that do not pay.

The situation

Ten or forty clients pay a fixed amount each month. Some would happily let you charge a card; others want an invoice to approve. A few are always late and you cannot tell which until the month is half gone.

What goes wrong today

Invoices get duplicated from last month by hand, with last month's date left on one of them. A client's card expires and nobody notices for two cycles. The recurring revenue you count on arrives in a different amount every month.

How it works in Invoice My Clients

Make the invoice recurring: pick the interval and start date, and each cycle creates and sends the invoice on schedule (Starter plan and above). Clients who agree can save a card, and the recurring invoice is paid automatically when it issues. If a payment fails you are notified and the invoice stays open with its payment link, so the normal reminders take over. Scheduled send covers the one-off invoice you want to go out on a particular morning.

Questions people ask

Can I pause a recurring invoice?+

Yes, pause and resume without losing the schedule.

Who holds the client's card?+

Stripe does. Cards never touch our servers; the client saves the card on the payment page.

Does the client have to give me their card?+

No. They save it themselves on the payment page, and Stripe stores it; you never see the number.
