Get paid faster on net 60 brand deals
You deliver in March and the brand pays in May. You cannot change a large payer’s terms, but you can shorten the wait, make lateness cost something and keep the balance in front of them.
The situation
Northline Studio, a two-person podcast team, signs a three-episode sponsorship with a large brand through its agency. The agency’s terms are net 60 from the invoice date, and the fee covers two months of your production costs.
You will be paid. The question is whether you fund the brand’s float for two months with nothing in hand.
What goes wrong today
The whole fee goes on one invoice at the end. Nothing arrives for 60 days, and when day 61 comes there is no interest, no reminder and no record of what else the agency still owes you.
A missing purchase order number or the wrong legal entity sends the invoice back to the start of the agency’s approval queue, and the 60 days start again.
How it works in Invoice My Clients
Ask for a deposit before you sign, and bill it as its own invoice at signing; the balance goes on a second invoice at delivery. Two invoices work on every plan. On Starter and above you can also take partial payments on one invoice.
On Starter and above, add an early-payment discount (the invoice shows both amounts and the pay link charges the right one) and set interest on overdue invoices once, with a grace period; it accrues on the invoice after the due date, where your agreement allows it. A statement of account lists everything the agency owes you, with aging, as a PDF or email.
On Professional and above, the AR dashboard shows aging and days sales outstanding, and autonomous AI dunning sends the reminders, in ask-first mode or on its own.
When it does not fit
| Situation | What happens | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| The brand will not move off net 60 | Invoice My Clients cannot change a payer’s terms | Ask for a deposit or a split before you sign |
| You want a flat late fee | Flat late fees are in preview and not yet available | Use interest on overdue invoices, or put the fee in your contract and add it as a line |
| You want reminders to pause until a promised date | The promised-date pause is in preview and not yet available | Note the date and follow up yourself |
| You want the brand’s card charged automatically | Saved cards and autopay are paused for every account | The brand pays on the invoice link (Starter and above) |
| You are on the Free or Starter plan and want automatic reminders | Automatic reminders are autonomous AI dunning, on Professional and above | Send the reminder yourself, or upgrade to Professional |

Questions people ask
How are the 60 days counted?+
From the invoice date, unless your contract says another date starts the clock. The invoice due date calculator counts it for you.
Can I charge interest on a late brand payment?+
If your agreement allows it. Interest on overdue invoices is on Starter and above; you set the rate and grace period once.
Will a discount make the brand pay early?+
Sometimes. Some finance teams take every early-payment discount, others never do. It costs nothing to offer.
