Worked example
An invoice dated 25 November 2026 on Net 30 is due on Christmas Day. The next working day is Tuesday 29 December, because Monday 28 December is the Boxing Day substitute. Ten working days from 18 December 2026 is 6 January 2027.
What the list covers
The list is GOV.UK's bank holidays for England and Wales, including substitute days. Scotland and Northern Ireland have different bank holidays. If no payment date was agreed, GOV.UK says payment is late 30 days after the customer gets the invoice or you deliver, whichever is later.
- When Christmas Day or Boxing Day falls on a weekend, GOV.UK lists a substitute weekday: 28 December in 2026, 27 and 28 December in 2027.
- Easter Monday is a bank holiday in England and Wales: 6 April 2026 and 29 March 2027.
