Definition

What Net 30 EOM means

EOM moves the starting point to the last day of the invoice month, then the days are counted from there. Plain "EOM" usually means due on the last day of that month. "Net 30 EOM" and "Net 60 EOM" add 30 or 60 days after it. Every invoice dated in the same month gets the same due date, which is why clients who pay in one monthly run like it.

When to use it

  • Clients who receive many invoices a month and pay them all in one run.
  • Your own billing, if you invoice several times a month and want one collection date per month.
  • Supplier agreements that already say "EOM": match their wording exactly on your invoice.

How it reads on the invoice

Terms: Net 30 EOM (30 days after the end of the invoice month). Invoice date Monday, November 16, 2026. Payment due Wednesday, December 30, 2026.

Common mistakes

  • Reading Net 30 EOM as Net 30. An invoice dated 19 October 2026 is due 18 November on Net 30, but 30 November on Net 30 EOM.
  • Writing only "EOM". It can mean the end of the invoice month (31 October 2026 for an invoice dated 19 October) or be shorthand for Net 30 EOM. Spell out the days.
  • Forgetting the month length. Net 30 EOM from an invoice dated 1 December 2026 is Saturday 30 January 2027, not 31 January.
  • Applying a cut-off nobody agreed. Some suppliers treat invoices dated late in the month (often after the 25th) as dated the following month. That is a separate term; only use it if it is written in the contract.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does 30 days EOM mean?

Payment is due 30 days after the last day of the month the invoice is dated in. Any invoice dated in October 2026 is due 30 November 2026.

How do I calculate 60 days EOM?

Find the last day of the invoice month, then add 60 days. For an invoice dated 16 November 2026 that is 30 November plus 60 days: 29 January 2027. Choose Net 60 EOM above.

Is EOM better than Net 30 for me?

It depends on when you invoice. An invoice dated on the 1st waits almost a month longer on Net 30 EOM than on Net 30; one dated on the last day of the month waits the same.
